HEIDI’S HOUSE OF HOPE
PROVIDING ATTAINABLE HOUSING THROUGH MICRO-HOME COMMUNITIES
Northeast Tennessee
ABOUT US
Heidi's House of Hope is a nonprofit dedicated to providing attainable housing through micro-home communities. We empower renters to become homeowners and enable them to live their best lives with job opportunities, a supportive community, and financial and health education.
Currently, we are going through rezoning on 46 acres in Johnson City, TN to build up to 184 units, including 96 single family homes.
We had an overwhelming amount of support at the Planning Commission Meeting on November 12th and our first City Commission on December 5th. We hope to have the same support on December 19th (second reading and public comment), and January 2nd (third reading and final decision). Please come show your support on Thursday, December 19th at 2250 Eddie Williams Road in Johnson City.
Join us in making a positive impact on our community with innovative housing solutions… a micro-home for a macro-difference!

CORE VALUES
We empower renters to achieve their dreams of homeownership with our buyers and lease-to-own programs. With our micro-homes, everyone can experience the American dream of owning a home and have the support of community along the way.
We empower individuals with a second chance to live with integrity and purpose in a supportive community. Guided by the grace of God and a commitment to second chances, we strive to be the hands and feet of Jesus for those who need Him most.
MEET THE TEAM

LAUREN SCHREIBER
FOUNDER AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Lauren grew up on a farm in central Illinois and decided to become a pharmacist so she could help people. After graduating pharmacy school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she was a pharmacy manager at Walgreens for 6 years before moving to Colorado, and then to Tennessee with her husband. While fixing up their long-term rentals in Tennessee and hearing the struggles of their tenants, they saw a huge opportunity to help the community with tiny living. After lots of research and brainstorming, Lauren launched Heidi’s House of Hope.
Lauren is an active member at her church and loves to ski, hike with her dog, and travel. She also really likes her husband :)

BRETT SCHREIBER
CO-FOUNDER AND BOARD CHAIR
Brett grew up in Johnson City, Tennessee and has a background in hotel and property management. He played soccer at the University of Memphis and is now a devoted fan of the Memphis Tigers. After college he moved to Vail, Colorado to pursue his career in hotel management, then decided to drive shuttles while he started his own short-term property management company, Corduroy Life. One early morning he was so lucky to shuttle Lauren and her friend from DIA to Vail to ski. After hours of being stranded in the snow due to an accident, Lauren asking for Brett’s number, and a weekend of fun together, Brett decided he would have to go visit this girl in Chicago. Let’s just say the story didn’t end there, and they’re now happily married!
Brett loves to snowboard, watch sports, play golf, and spend time with his family and friends. He is also a realtor and treats his clients like family.

HEIDI
THE “HEIDI” IN HEIDI’S HOUSE OF HOPE
Brett got Heidi when he moved out to Colorado. She loved to go fishing with Brett and have spa days soaking in the river. Lauren met her on her ski trip to Vail. Heidi was the shuttle bus driver’s dog, and one of the many reasons Lauren decided she liked Brett. Heidi had a kind heart and loved everyone. After 15 beautiful years, Heidi had to go to doggie heaven. She will forever live on in our hearts and be our inspiration to always bring hope to those around us.
